5. **Short circuits and poor contacts**: Internal winding or lead short circuits, or poor contact of tap changers, result in increased current flow, generating a considerable amount of heat.
To ensure the normal operation and longevity of transformers, regular maintenance and inspections are necessary to promptly identify and address heating issues.
