Open Wound Transformers
The conductor coils are pre-heated, dipped in a high-temperature insulating varnish, and baked to seal out moisture. Because the windings remain physically open to the air, they are best suited for low-voltage, clean, and dry indoor environments.

Vacuum Pressure Impregnated (VPI) Transformers
The core and assembled windings are placed inside a vacuum chamber where a high-temperature polyester or silicone resin is introduced under pressure. This forces the resin to deeply penetrate every microscopic gap in the windings before it is oven-cured. VPI units offer superior moisture and contaminant resistance, making them ideal for standard commercial buildings and schools.

Vacuum Pressure Encapsulated (VPE) Transformers
Similar to VPI, but utilizing a thicker, heavy-duty silicone resin. This process coats the entire assembly in a rugged protective outer layer. VPE transformers provide enhanced protection against highly corrosive chemicals, salt air, and heavy moisture, making them perfect for marine vessels or offshore platforms.

Cast Resin Dry-Type Transformers (CRT)
The windings are completely enclosed and cast inside a solid block of epoxy resin under a strict vacuum. The resulting coils are entirely impervious to moisture, dust, and heavy atmospheric pollution. CRTs feature exceptional mechanical strength to withstand severe short-circuit forces, making them the premier choice for harsh, high-risk environments like underground subways and heavy industrial plants.
