How to test a power transformer with a multimete?
The method of testing a power transformer with a multiplexer includes the following steps:
1. confirming that the working condition of the multiplexer is normal to avoid inaccurate test results caused by abnormal working condition.
2. Use the resistance measurement function of the multimeter to perform the test. Connect the test pen to the input and output terminals of the multiplex transformer and record the measured values. Then connect the test pen to the adjacent input and output terminals and record the measured value again. If the resistance values of the two measurements are the same, it means that there is no problem with the winding of the multiplex transformer; if the resistance values of the two measurements are different, there may be a short-circuit in the winding, which needs to be further detected to determine.
3. Use the voltage measurement function of the multimeter to test. Connect the test pen to the input and output terminals of the multi-channel transformer, and record the voltage values of the input and output terminals. If there is a significant change between the voltage at the output and the voltage at the input, it indicates that there is a problem with the ratio of the multiway transformer and it needs to be repaired or replaced.
The above information is for reference only, please make sure that it is safe and error-free during actual operation. Meanwhile, if you are not familiar with the testing of multiplexers or power transformers, it is recommended to seek professional help.
