Is power from transformer into house dc?

**The power input to the room from a transformer is not DC**. Transformers work on the principle of electromagnetic induction and have two sets of coils that share an iron core. When the primary of the transformer is energised with AC, it can produce a varying magnetic field in the iron core, which induces an AC of the same frequency in the secondary. DC cannot produce a varying magnetic field, so it cannot transform voltage through a transformer. Therefore, the power source in the input chamber of the transformer is alternating current (AC).
