The inspection of power transformers mainly includes steps such as appearance inspection, test inspection and inspection. The following are the specific inspection methods:
1. appearance inspection:
* Check whether the shell has cracks, corrosion, deformation and so on, these may affect the performance and life of the transformer.
* Check whether the fixing condition of the terminal box is firm, whether there is any looseness or cable wear, if found loose or wear should be replaced in time.
* Check whether there are obvious scratches or damages on the insulating surface of the transformer, especially on the parts with thin insulating materials, such as on the winding and core.
* Check whether the radiator is blocked and the airflow is smooth. Poor heat dissipation may cause the temperature of the transformer to rise, affecting its performance and life.
* Check whether the various markings on the transformer are clear and complete.

2. test test:
* Insulation characteristics test: such as insulation resistance, absorption ratio, polarization index, dielectric loss, leakage current, etc., in order to judge the good or bad insulation materials and the aging degree of the insulation layer.
* Transformer oil breakdown voltage, oil dielectric loss, water content, gas content (at 500kV level) test.
* Oil chromatography analysis: detect the composition and content of gas in transformer oil to judge whether there are faults such as overheating and discharge inside the transformer.
* Winding DC resistance test: check whether the winding is damp, aging, faulty or damaged, especially the low-voltage winding and high-voltage winding.
* No-load loss and no-load current measurement: to judge the performance of the transformer.
* Short circuit impedance and load loss measurement: to judge the performance of the transformer.
* Temperature rise test: check the temperature change of the transformer under normal working conditions to judge the heat dissipation performance of the transformer.
* Sound level measurement: to measure the noise level of the transformer during operation to judge the operation status of the transformer.
3. inspection:
* Transformer should be inspected regularly, the frequency is generally quarterly or half a year. Inspection cycle can be adjusted according to the use of the transformer and environmental conditions.
* Inspection personnel should wear protective equipment, such as safety shoes, helmets, etc., and pay attention to prevent the occurrence of sparks, explosions and electric shock and other dangerous situations.
* Before inspection, the power supply to the transformer should be cut off and the external surface of the transformer should be cleaned, including removing dust, debris, etc., to facilitate observation of abnormal conditions on the surface of the transformer.
Please note that the inspection of power transformers is a complex and important task and should be carried out by a professional power engineer or technician. If you are not familiar with the knowledge or skills in this area, please do not attempt to inspect it by yourself to avoid danger or unnecessary damage.
