Losses in the transformer oil tank:
The structural components of the transformer include the oil tank, clamps, core pull plates, pull rods, and metal pressure plates. The additional losses of the core laminations under load current should also be classified as additional losses. All these non-obvious losses are complex and difficult to calculate due to the irregular geometries of these components. Furthermore, the electromagnetic properties of ferromagnetic materials are nonlinear, the leakage magnetic field is uneven, and the effects of eddy currents must also be considered.
Currently, the numerical calculation methods that are mastered and can be used in practice are only applicable to structural components with relatively regular shapes. The vast majority of engineering practices still use two-dimensional models. It is necessary to compare the calculation results with the measurement results of actual products and continuously refine the calculation methods.
Detailed calculations require the use of three-dimensional models combined with material properties for analysis. Due to the advancements in finite element methods, there has been significant progress in the calculation of losses in structural components.
