Losses in Transformer Cooling Devices
Fan Losses: The fans used in cooling devices are driven by electric motors, which incur a certain power loss during operation. The loss associated with the fan can be easily calculated based on its power rating. However, this loss does not contribute to the internal heating of the transformer; it only affects the overall efficiency of the transformer.
Oil Pump Losses: Similar to the fan, the oil pump used in the cooling system is also driven by an electric motor, which results in a certain power loss during operation. This loss can be easily determined based on the power rating of the oil pump. The motor for the oil pump is typically cooled by circulating transformer oil, and this portion of power loss effectively contributes to the internal heating of the transformer. The total heating power within the transformer is dissipated through the cooling devices, which determines the temperature rise of the transformer oil.
