What are the transformer test experiments usually included?
1. DC Resistance Test
We usually use a DC power supply and ammeter to measure the winding resistance. To detect the resistance of the windings to determine if there are any short circuits or open circuits.
2. No-load Test
We apply the rated voltage to the high-voltage side and measure the voltage on the low-voltage side along with the no-load losses. To measure the voltage, power, and losses of the transformer under no-load conditions.
3. Short-circuit Test
To measure the voltage, power, and losses of the transformer in a short-circuit state. We will apply high voltage to short-circuit the low-voltage side,,and measure the current and power losses.
4. Overall Efficiency Test
We compare input power and output power to calculate efficiency. To evaluate the operating efficiency of the transformer.
5. Temperature Rise Test
We run at rated load and periodically measure the temperature. To measure the temperature rise of the transformer under normal operating conditions.
6. Insulation Test
We use an insulation resistance tester to measure the insulation resistance between the windings and ground. To check the performance of insulating materials.
