The primary winding is connected to the input power supply and the secondary winding provides the output voltage.
3. **Insulating materials**: Insulating materials, such as insulating paper, insulating varnish, etc., are used between the windings and the core of the transformer, as well as between the layers of the windings. The function of these insulating materials is to prevent the current from circulating directly between the windings and the core, or between the layers of the windings, thus ensuring the normal operation of the transformer.
4. **Tank**: The windings and core of a power line transformer are contained in a sealed tank. The tank is filled with transformer oil, which serves both as an insulator and as a cooling effect during the operation of the transformer.
5. **Tap changer**: The tap changer is a device used to adjust the output voltage of the transformer. By changing the position of the tap changer, the number of turns of the secondary winding can be changed, thus changing the output voltage.
6. **Cooling system**: For large power line transformers, there is usually a cooling system, such as radiators, fans, oil pumps, etc., to help reduce the operating temperature of the transformer and ensure that it can run stably for a long time.
