Power transformers and distribution transformers are significantly different in several aspects.

Finally, from the point of view of energy saving and environmental protection, both power transformers and distribution transformers are important energy saving areas. China has a large number of transformers, and losses account for a significant portion of transmission and distribution power losses, so there is a large potential for energy saving. To this end, the state has formulated relevant policies, such as the "Transformer Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan (2021-2023)", to promote the popularization and application of energy-efficient transformers, enhance the efficiency of energy resource utilization, and promote green low-carbon and high-quality development.
In summary, there are obvious differences between power transformers and distribution transformers in terms of definition, use, design, manufacture, and energy saving and environmental protection. The selection and use should be based on specific application scenarios and needs.
