What is transformational power ?

The power of a transformer is the maximum power that can be delivered by the transformer, that is, the power value corresponding to the current and voltage that can be steadily delivered by the transformer. This power value is usually expressed in volt-amperes (VA). It is an important indicator of the transformer's performance, reflecting the maximum load capacity that the transformer can withstand under normal operating conditions.
The power of a transformer can be calculated by multiplying its input and output voltages and current by the formula: power = voltage × current. It should be noted that this calculation of power is apparent power, which includes active power and reactive power two parts. Active power is the power that is actually consumed by the load, while reactive power is the power exchanged due to inductance, capacitance and other components in the circuit.
When selecting and using a transformer, the power required needs to be determined based on the actual load demand. If the transformer power chosen is too small, it may lead to overloaded operation, which may damage the transformer or cause safety accidents; while if the transformer power chosen is too large, it will lead to waste of resources and increase in cost. Therefore, it is very important to choose and use the correct power of the transformer.
