For full power operation, the power in the primary and secondary coils of the transformer should be equal.

 

    Therefore, we have the following equation:

V1 × I1 = V2 × I2

   Due to full power operation, we assume that the current I1 in the primary coil is determined by the capacity S of the transformer and the voltage V1 in the primary coil, i.e.:

I1 = S / V1
