Working principle

 

The working principle of a single-phase transformer is based on electromagnetic induction. When an alternating current passes through the primary winding, a changing magnetic field is generated, which induces a voltage in the secondary winding. According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, the relationship between the output voltage and the input voltage of the transformer is determined by the winding turns ratio.
